As a youth and young man, I enjoyed incredibly acute hearing. Then one day, a relative discharged a 45 pistol inches away from my right ear and virtually wiped out its ability to perceive sound, and greatly impacted my left ear's ability to perceive high frequencies (like most women's vocal range). Since that day six decades ago, I have struggled against the isolation and frustration of partial deafness. Over those years, I have sought help from audiologists and hearing aid specialists, spending thousands of dollars on the marketed advances of the industry, but always frustrated and discouraged by the failure of the instruments to meet their advertised promises. Most recently, I tried the expensive ear pods, but the transparency mode was inadequate in volume to be of much help in most environments. I finally tried the cheap drugstore models hanging on a display rack. Actually, they were almost as good for me as were the $4,000 instruments I had purchased and which still reside in my dresser drawer but are still totally inadequate for my condition. After loud rock music as a kid, being a pilot before headphones were popular, and shooting competitively it was obvious that I suffered hearing loss. I bought the TX-5 over the TX-1 because it had more features. To be honest I put them in my drawer a while back but put them aside to collect dust. I dusted them off Monday and by Tuesday I was totally acclimated to them. For those of you on the fence, Bossa is an amazing product and an outstanding value. For those that need it, this will be one of the smartest purchases you'll ever make. By the way, I don't impress easily and I've never written a review before for ANY product.

I have utilized hearing aids since 2002. Since that time I have spent over $12,000.00 on custom hearing aids. I now utilize the TX-5 from Bossa. They are rechargeable in-ear canal-type hearing aids. They are without a doubt comparable and in every aspect better. Bossa is a company that is helpful and concerned in every step of the purchase, use, and follow-up process. The Bossa price structure, for their products, reduces the cost from multiple thousands to a few hundred dollars. I am pleasantly surprised by the power this small unit has. With wearing a mask the strings hook on the wires with behind the ear hearing aids but this TX-5 Mini fit in the ear and I do not have this problem any longer - taking off the mask is super easy because there are no wires behind my ear. It is so easy to use them it's unbelievable. The only concern I have is they are not phone compatible - when I enquired about this it sounds like it was a predetermined shortcoming so I told them to let me know as soon as they come out because I will buy them immediately! I also like the fact that they are rechargeable via a charging case. That is truly revolutionary as they advertise.

For years now my mom has been struggling with hearing loss.
